Local and Non-Local Partial Differential Equations

Abstract

Partial Differential Equations are often used to construct models of the most basic theories underlying physics and engineering. The main topics that would be addressed in this minisymposium can be summarized as systems with coupled NLS and NLS-KdV equations, fractional and non-local gradients and applications in Solid Mechanics, evolution problems of Leray-Lions type, reaction-diffusion models with nonlinear diffusion terms, fractional Laplacian, 1-Laplacian, etc.

The speakers will use techniques coming from Nonlinear Analysis: variational methods and min-max, Leray-Schauder degree, singular perturbation method, etc. Other tools from PDE's will also be used, like homogenization, blow-up analysis, sub-supersolutions, moving planes, etc.
